If you’re gonna get bit by a coral snake, now’s the time

The last remaining US coral snake antivenom expires at the end of this month. After that, you’re pretty much on your own. Without antivenom, the best course of treatment is preventative intubation and mechanical ventilation, or you die. Mexican coral snake antivenom may eventually be allowed into the US.
