FPL to receive 90 million gallons per day reclaimed water

IF FPL receives the go-ahead to build 2 new reactors at Turkey Point, the county has agreed to supply them with 90 million gallons per day of reclaimed water. That’s water that has been through the sewage plant and “disinfected.” This reclaimed water will help the county meet its goals of reclaiming 170 million gallons per day, and help FPL with a source for cooling water.

So what happens to the 90 million gallons per day of now hot water that FPL has? Is it flushed out into the Bay? Is it injected into wells? Where does it go? Dumping 90MGD of hot water into the environment will have consequences.
