The 2004 and 2005 hurricanes did a lot of damage to Flamingo in Everglades National Park. Now, five years later, the NPS has released a master plan for rebuilding. This is totally bad-ass stuff.
Replace the cottages and lodge, renovate the marina and visitor’s center and add 30 new “eco-tents.” The eco-tents seem to be designed as inexpensive seasonal canvas structures on wooden platforms. They are dismantled for hurricane season when park attendance slows down. The outline is here.
