“Is a dream a lie if it don’t come true, or is it something worse?”

Is a dream a lie if it don’t come true, or is it something worse? That’s a line from Bruce Springsteen’s The River. (If you don’t know who Springsteen is, just ask your parents or click here.) So anyway, many of us had a dream, we called it The American Dream: a life of honest work, patience and ingenuity would lead to a reasonably comfortable life, as compared to, let’s say, the rest of the world’s people.

You could raise a family, hang out at The River on weekends, bowl a few games Wednesday night, put a few clams in the bank for retirement, pay off a house and put your kids through college. We are simple people with simple tastes. Of course, this dream required just one thing. The rest of American society had to be just as honest, hard-working and patient.

Well it is now confirmed that The Masters of the Universe not only corrupted the financial system, they rigged the American Dream against you and me. Wall Street is Darth Vader and the American Dream really is just a casinoThe house always wins when they are betting against their own customers.
