We expect our political leaders to be ready for anything. Even disappointment. So it was not unexpected when speaking to the Palm Beach Post last year, Florida Governor Rick Scott said:
“If it’s the law of the land, of course” Florida will implement it, Scott said. “If it’s the law of the land, we will be ready.”
Scott was referring to the Affordable Care Act, and we believed him. We believed the Scott administration was preparing for anything. Now Scott vows he will not implement the act, even though it is the law of the land.
Scott’s a lawyer, he knows a law suit can go either way. We expected him to be ready for anything and he is not.
