It’s a battle of epic proportion. East Coast vs. West Coast via the Tamiami Trail.
A few days ago, the Tampa City Council designated what we all know as a Cuban Sandwich as the ”Historic Tampa Cuban sandwich.” Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado immediately took to the airwaves with disparaging remarks about Tampa’s version, which includes mayo and salami.
Not being one to miss a cultural debate of such monumental impact, NPR has devised a poll to help end the Cuban Sandwich Crisis by popular vote (scroll down to bottom of story). The city with the most votes gets to call the Cuban Sandwich it’s own. So what are you waiting for? Go vote!
